A prestigious villa in the heartlands of green Dubai Jumeirah Islands, with a complete renovation and refurbishment of the Interior Design and the Exterior Landscaping
The total length of time from initial signing of the project, concept, design development, technical drawings, procurement, production, project management and installation was 3.5 months.
Light, open bright, contemporary paneling.
When we first saw the house there was cascading light coming through the double height windows at the back of the house and the garden struck us as full of vibrant greens and blues, with double height windows and light pouring in. We wanted to accentuate the garden open fresh tropical feel, bring it into the home.
The existing house was dark and with empty spaces that were not used. Da Fonseca Design is a firm believer in using every space in the house and finding a purpose so the home reaches the full potential
We changed the spaces and how they were used, opened up walls, created more space and light.
Tonal shades of blues, greens creams dark and light, presented itself through the home. The son’s room became a haven for him in warmer creams, blues and flashes of Ferrari Red.
An office space was created from one store room, paneling replicated from the other spaces within the home, well planned functional, yet a man cave, blacks, blues, creams and mirrors to reflect space, a niche area for an Italian humidor, office equipment, and deep leather chairs and moveable custom seats
A key to the plan was a newly launched Christian Lacroix tropical garden themed fabric, yet in deep blues. We commissioned a Brazilian Lebanese Artist to use this as a starting point and he created a vertical display of tropical flora and fauna in the main salon in a tryptique fashion.
Custom lights from Paris, trailed up the staircase in fresh whites, leaves entwined, backlit, stretching and pulling the inhabitants up to the next level of the home. This artwork /lighting sculpture can be seen from most areas of the ground floor.
On every wall we wanted to create a visual display, albeit, art, paint finishes, lighting or paneling. A feast for the roving eye. Each paneling became a different colour way, and some with glass, some with light and the stunning entrance in French blues, and wall lights, creating a 3D sculptured architectural effect. Watercolour prints at the entrance bestow a calm feeling and a wow symmetrical wall paneling.
We were also tasked with amending the landscaping, hardscaping, softscaping and lighting. The main terrace we changed to white wooden effect ceramic tiles, again opening up the space and replaced all the lighting, furniture and surrounding ceramics throughout the garden. A dividing low level wall between the seating and lawn area was installed, which enabled lighting to be placed on the top, creating a lounge effect.
The result. The project was delivered on time, a crucial point for the client, and exceeded their expectations on delivery. Following this project, the same client, commissioned us for their yacht and an apartment in central London.
